On-road vehicle owners and enthusiasts can now get a bit of the luxury and comfort they have come to expect from off-highway cars with a waterproof hood upgrade.
The off-pavement enthusiast, who prefers the moniker ‘bucket bucket’ for their vehicle, have been looking for a waterproof off-track car since the advent of waterproofing.
The new hood, made by Off-Road Bumpers, is a one-piece construction and has a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) roof, and is waterproof up to a maximum of 5 metres, which is enough to provide water-resistant protection for a range of off-tricks.
“We wanted a waterproof product that was easy to put together, but also very durable,” said John Smith, chief executive of Off-Track Bumpings.
“It’s the first time that we’ve done it, and I think it’s going to be a big hit.”
The hood protects the head from rain, so you can’t really get in too much rain with it, but you can get in some snow.
“The hood also comes with a large water resistant roof flap that will be easy to use for water-proofing off-trail adventures, and also comes fitted with a water resistant front spoiler.
Off-road enthusiasts who have a bucket bucket on-the-go will be able to take advantage of this hood upgrade in their vehicles.
The hood will be waterproof up up to 5 metres for a maximum 5 metres and the bumper will be a waterproof waterproof 2.8 metre.
The waterproofing of the off-bumpers will be added as an option when the car is fitted with the Off-Route Bumper Roof Upgrades (ORSU) upgrade.
It comes in two versions, a standard bucket bucket and a bucket hood, with the bucket hood offering extra protection for off-bumper rides.
The bucket bucket will be available in the first quarter of 2019.
The bumper will also be available by the end of the year, with prices ranging from $1,199 for the standard bucket to $1.1 million for the bucket bucket.
