The driver of a smart car has been caught using his vehicle off-Road to rent an off-ROAD car rental at a rental shop in Ontario, CBC News reported on Thursday.
The incident was caught on video and captured by the rental firm’s security camera, the website reported.
The driver, who was not identified by the outlet, was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm.
According to the outlet’s source, the driver is not licensed to operate a vehicle.
The owner of the rental company was also charged.
The video shows the driver driving on the wrong side of the road.
He is also seen trying to pull over a rental car that was parked at a traffic light and pull off the road in front of a building that houses a gas station.
The car’s driver was able to get out and leave, but he wasn’t seen driving in the area of the gas station, which was blocked off.
The smart car is owned by a company called Smart Rental, which is licensed in Ontario to operate off-RV cars.
Smart R&D says it offers rental cars for off-ramps and off-roads and is currently in the process of getting a license to operate them.
The company has also partnered with local companies to rent off-vehicle trailers to customers, CBC reported.
