“It was a machine.
It was the greatest.”
In 1955, the legendary Chrysler Company began manufacturing its first off-roader, the Charger, with a body built on a four-cylinder.
The company’s first car, the Chevy Thunderbird, was a foursome with an inline four that made 265 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
The next year, the company’s “biggest hit” was the Plymouth Horizon, a two-door hatchback that had an engine of 280 horsepower and 295 pound-forces of torque, and was the first offroader ever built.
But the company was soon overwhelmed with orders for its bigger, heavier, more powerful, and more expensive models, like the Dodge Chargers and Plymouth Harleys.
And while the first four-door off-roads became the mainstay of the industry, they were never able to match the success of the bigger and more powerful vehicles that followed.
So, in 1966, the Dodge Chargers were phased out, replaced by the Chrysler Thunderbirds, which were even more powerful.
The first one, the Plymouth Harley, was introduced in 1967, and the company had to make its way back to the four-doors.
The first car to be completely redesigned was the Dodge Challenger.
Its body was the same as the Chargers, but it was bigger and heavier, with all-wheel drive.
Its chassis was also designed with a more traditional four-seat layout, which allowed it to be built on factory lines and still be able to compete in the off-off-road market.
And it had a much more powerful engine, the 427-horsepower V8 that made 390 horsepower.
The Dodge Chargor, however, wasn’t ready for the offroad, and Bonettti says the company decided to sell it instead.
Instead of making a new Charger every few years, it decided to just make two.
This changed the course of the car’s life, as it became the first vehicle built specifically for off-tros, the Bonets.
“There were so many different options,” says Bonnie BonetTI, “so we made the best decision we could.
It made it a great vehicle.”
Bonetti says she was initially skeptical that the company could keep its customers loyal, but the company quickly grew to become one of the most recognizable brands in the industry.
“We’re so proud of what we did,” she says.
“This is one of those cars that people go, ‘I like it, but I don’t want to buy it.'”
Bonettti bought the company in 1977, when it was owned by a group of investors led by Warren Buffett.
They named the company the Bonettis, after a small town in the Southwestern United States, and sold the business to Bonettis in 1986.
BonetTI says that she never had any issues getting the financing needed to build the car, and she also never had a problem finding investors.
“I never had to worry about the financing,” she said.
“You know, if we had had the money, we could have done it.”
Bonets original goal was to build a “supercar” that would be the “next great sports car,” she recalls.
“That’s what we were aiming for.”
But the company says the first Bonetttis were a big hit, selling more than 50,000 over its life.
“We thought it would be a fun project, but we didn’t have the money to make it,” BonetTi says.
She says that the success is partly due to her own personal passion, but also because she says she is passionate about helping people achieve their dreams.
“A lot of people don’t have that kind of drive to be successful,” she explains.
“So, I think the Bonettis have really helped a lot of young people succeed.”
Bonettti also says that people don of course have a “small amount of money” to spend, but she says that it is important for the company to be able afford to buy new cars every year.
“If you don’t do it, then the cars aren’t going to be used,” she stresses.
“And it’s the car that you get that will keep you motivated.”
